Director's Message
Welcome from the Director
Fr. Steven Jerry Ochieng, MCSPA
Dear Students, Parents, and Friends,
It is my profound privilege to welcome you to St. Joseph Integrated Secondary School, where we embrace our motto "Duc in Altum" — Cast into the Deep — as more than words, but as a call to excellence, courage, and transformative education.
Founded in 2025 in the heart of Nkhotakota District, our school stands as a beacon of hope and opportunity in one of Malawi's most underserved educational regions. Under the spiritual guidance of the Missionary Community of St. Paul the Apostle (MCSPA) we are committed to forming not just scholars, but compassionate leaders who will transform their communities.
Our distinctive approach integrates rigorous academic excellence with practical vocational training, ensuring our graduates are equipped for both academic studies and entrepreneurial success. We proudly maintain equal opportunities for all students, including specialised support for those with unique needs, reflecting our unwavering belief in the dignity of every person.
Through our five foundational pillars — Faith Formation, Academic Excellence with Local Relevance, Holistic Human Development, Community Service and Social Justice, and Environmental Stewardship — we nurture the whole person: mind, body, spirit, and heart. Our students don't just learn about the world; they actively engage in shaping it, from developing solutions to local problems, to stewarding the environment, and serving others with compassion and integrity.
Innovation is our strength. Guided by Jesus with quiet strength and practical compassion, St. Joseph School helps students discover their dreams and their duties to the world. With the support of a passionate, well-trained cadre of educators and staff, we foster a culture of inquiry, creativity, resilience, entrepreneurship, and service.
Like our patron, St. Joseph, we move forward boldly accepting knowledge as a gift and a responsibility. We invite you to join us on this journey where faith meets learning, where together, we are building a generation of leaders challenged to cast into the deep and return to their communities with hope and purpose.
